Many Swainson’s thrushes in flight calling overhead here in Littleton, JeffCo
now. I had a veery a minute ago as well. Lots of warbler/sparrow chips as well.

I have an imm kittiwake east of Chatfield marina sandspit now. It’s with large
ring billed gull flock.

About 830, just before the wind started howling, there were 6 immature sabines
from the sand spit. For once I had a stiff tailwind to push me home on the
bike. There have been 5-6 Sabine’s daily for a few days now. Fun birds!

The Lesser Black-backed Gulls were there at sunrise. They caught me off guard
too! I had a Long-billed Curlew hanging out down there as well. Good mid-August

willets at 1:45pm.

The little gull is currently (720am) flying around near 4 Sabine’s gulls and
red-necked phalarope to west of fisherman’s pier. Little gull is wandering both

I just relocated the Harris's Hawk perched in a tree in the middle of the
recycling center just west of the visitors center. Perched fairly low and I
probably missed it the first 10 times I scanned those trees.

Amongst the couple thousand cackling geese scattered around the lake were 2
young snow geese by the library. Over 400 shovelers were feeding in their
little groups all around the lake. I can't recall seeing this many shovelers
here before.

the bird moved to another perch nearby
but there were two observed at the same time. I think I got a
decent/identifiable photo of at least one of them. Nice bird just out for a
walk! They are so close to the yard too. I hope one flies over!

The buff-breasted sandpiper continues this morning at Prewitt, Washington Co. I
was looking at a couple sanderlings when it flew into my view and stood there.
That's some luck! Many distant photos, maybe none identifiable. Lighting is
awful. Lots of shorebirds to sort through though.

Follow up. The info I got suggested it flew north from the model airplane field
and it was not seen again via several folks that searched this morning and
afternoon. I think the bird was seen before 8-830 am this morning and not
since.

Glad you posted this Bill. There was also a Reddish Egret at Quivira NWR
in Kansas yesterday (about 4th state record).
