There was a lot of discussion about creating a NuttX organization in the

Actually, I think that Xiaomi is a great open source partner. I see
only two real issues: (1) There is a communication obstacle. We are not
included in the decision making process for the changes so many of the
changes are out-of-context for us and it is hard to be supportive of
changes that
Hello,
I have no more hard feeling about this now. it is done.
I just think that this is interesting context information that would
have be very valuable to understand the "almost take over" by xiaomi
that I resisted a few months ago.

Well that really sux :-(
Considering they manufacture their own MCU/SoC that would have perfect
drivers on NuttX directly from vendor that also use the RTOS
commercially maybe they do not want to sell their chips or what :\

No, they didn't.
Actually they changed the license from BSD to Apache, so NuttX was BSD and
couldn't incorporate the changes.
Now NuttX is Apache, but we don't bring back their modifications because
their Apache files have BSD license just below the Apache text.

Did they share anything back to the NuttX?

Sebastien,
It wasn't "DURING" the apache migration, actually it was Xiaomi that
convinced Greg to donate NuttX to Apache.
Before that we had a frustrating experience with Samsung trying to move
NuttX to the Linux Foundation.
I don't think it was discussed in the mailing list.

I dont remember this being discussed on the mailing list.
I just remember the almost forceful push to make nuttx an apache
incubator project during christmas holidays while everyone was busy with
end of year activities and unavailable to discuss deeply on the original
mailing list.

More...I think OpenVela is completely open source. It is a userspace framework
that runs on NuttX or Linux. Nuttx is not "inside" of OpenVela: They use
same os from the same repositories as you do.They encourage and support open
source development just as NuttX does.I hope that someone from

Xiaomi helped in the process to transfer NuttX to Apache Foundation.

The problem was not the configured size (I was able to make it work
with 4K). I was missing adding a __ISB between writes: LittleFS was
verifying the memory but failed due to CRC. Instead of forwarding the

Hi
I'm trying to compile some configs for my spresense board.
"spresense:nsh" runs without problems, but when I try to compile some
configurations for the *camera* I have the following error:

I'm going to give it a try, thanks Jehudi!
Although it doesn't fit our needs, we'd need a FS that supports
smaller values. Do you have any suggestions and/or recommendations for
an FS embedded into NuttX that we can use for this purpose? I've been
digging into some NuttX docs about this, but I onl
Yeah I am okay with this new updated name apps/system/nxinit in place
of too generic apps/system/init :-)
It would be good to vote but as there are no other ideas / comments /
objections we can proceed with the change as NXINIT. If there are this
is the last chance to talk :-)
Thanks :-)
Tomek
Hi Tomek,
+1 NXInit -> apps/system/nxinit -> nxinit.
I think that we should avoid using external names (that inspired the init) to
avoid confusion and functionality demands from our init systems (compared with
the ones that inspired them).
Best regards

Okay so looks like there are two name propositions for this new application:
1. Android System Init -> apps/android/init -> android_init (or just ainit).
2. NXInit -> apps/system/nxinit -> nxinit.
If the discussion with ideas is concluded lets just VOTE on the
mailing list so the community decides
