floor bedroom, attached as two of the four sources. The rca cable and
the cat5e is run from the second floor down to the ground floor

I placed my order with Nokia UK on 21st November and they were
indicating December shipment. I called them this morning and they are
still promising December, but cannot/will not be more specific.

system so I'll probably try to get them interested first and who knows

With all the talk of NASes and Linux servers for
SlimServer, I checked into something I've played
with in the past, ClarkConnect:

It's a Linux distro designed to turn a PC into a
server/firewall. In the past I used ClarkConnect
as a firewall.
In my experience with SB1/SB3, I don't think the SB does anything to
provide safe signals.
In my experiance, almost no consumer or professional equipment does, except
as an option at extra cost.

If you remove the optical lead from the receiver with the SB2 on or
off, you'll see the light/led/laser is never powered off, so receiver's
that autodetect input still believe the SB2 is the active source.

It just occurs to me. On the Mac, as I mentioned previously, the
slimserversql.db is inside the Caches folder of the user library.
Some of the cleaning utilities can, I think, empty all this folder.
So take care, and make a copy of the file before doing deep cleaning.

have any patience left for the raft of digital noise bugs that

being sent to the SB, what would be useful is a scanner that looks for
digital noise in the input stream. This would help the overall signal
chain quite a bit.

resistance of about 50R (from the analog switch HC4066) but that should
not impose a problem. I also do not see a problem having the output
turned on all the time while SB is on.
