6.5.1 came with a firmware upgrade. If I reinstall 6.5.0, will it work
with the new firmware?
Firmware is paired with server version. If you reinstall 6.5.0 it'll
put the appropriate firmware back on the Squeezebox.

Best to stick with the v2-v4 or the L if you're planning on doing
this. They have the full 4 MB ROM/16 MB RAM.
Agreed. The only way to be sure is to get the GL (WRT54GL), since
there's no way that I know of to tell if it's version 2-4 on the box.

Every option will be easier than hacking into a NAS.
You don't have to hack all NASes to run SlimServer. The Infrant
(http://www.infrant.com) actually support a SlimServer module and it
is easy to install it.

also seems to appeal to the geeks.
