As the title suggests - a slightly off topic question on Qobuz
streaming. It's working fine with LMS and all my SB clients, and it's
working fine on my Android phone. It's suddenly stopped working on
Android Auto in the car. Other apps like Apple Music and Spotify and

Couldn't agree more. Have been happily using the SB ecosystem since
2005. I recently hooked up one of my SB Touches to a pair of KEF LS50W
wireless speakers and I'm super thrilled.

SoftSqueeze should work for you if you can already remotely connect via
SSH. All you need to do is tunnel two TCP ports 3483 and 9000, which
SoftSqueeze handles.
Make sure you have the latest version of SoftSqueeze. Under preferences,
put your server hostname as localhost. Under networking,
became available and there's also an 'open source version'
(http://code.google.com/p/maczfs/).

I tested it really briefly on a PPC Mac Mini running 10.4.11 with
SqueezeCenter 7.33. Seems to work fine. Is there anything specific you

support for direct ISOs is not nearly as ubiquitous as support for

I've been using Firefly server side by side with SlimServer (sharing the
same library) for nearly a year now without any performance problems.
I use Firefly server to transcode my FLACs to WAVs so they appear in
iTunes and can be played through Airport Express or FrontRow.

What about an old mac mini? Something like a 1.25GHz 0r 1.42 GHz PPC
machine? They are small and super quiet, and should be fairly
inexpensive. You can easily add multiple USB2.0 and/or Firewire
external drives for expansion without worrying about drive size limits.

cake. This would put the Squeezebox+Slimserver combo way ahead of the
Sonos System IMHO - Sonos still requires a NAS with SMB shares, or a

Maybe somebody could modify an earlier generation iPod (the ones that
still supported firewire which is peer to peer unlike USB) with
RockBox, iPod Linux, or something similar and then you might be able to
access external FLAC HDDs and play them through the iPod.
