I find the issue with AlienBBC and mplayer on the Mac very weird.
First, there are issues with getting versions of mplayer and the cook
codec that work together - some do, some don't.
Then it seems that when I do have mplayer working from the terminal,

Can Squeeze Box and SlimServe software handle files stored on multiple
hard drives? I am thinking of adding a USB2 external hard drive to add
extra storeage capacity.
But can SlimServe be configured to look at more than 1 hard drive?

I'm ripping to FLAC using EAC.
I've only just started, and there are already a couple of albums where
I'd like to correct some info. It seems that changing the directory
name, or FLAC file name makes no difference to how the album and title
is listed on the Squeezebox.

I use the program MP3Tag, which allows you to view and edit all the tags
in single directory of tracks. It fully supports FLAC files. After
making changes, make sure you have slimserver clear the cache, and
rescan your files.

It would require a total change to the squeezebox I think.
At present all the UI, file management etc. is done on the server PC.
This would require it to be done on the player.
Not saying impossible or course, I guess the processor in the
squeezebox could do a lot if required...?

Is it possibly to instruct Slimserver to ignore folders that are called
MP3? I ask because I have two versions of most of my music. The
FLAC which I listen to, and an MP3 version for easily putting on

I've been trying to set up a new (new to me...old in actuality--it was
given to me by a friend) server these past couple of days but have had fits
getting the Realslim plugin to work. There have been a number of problems
(I've always had a number of problems initially configuring realslim), but

SoftQueeze via the web interface.
After opening the web interface and selecting tracks, the music stops
