Had very similar incident about 2 weeks ago... really ticked me off
After much debugging, the mac address of the slim device was reset to
all f's. Really strange.. so I entered the MAC address of the Slim
Device and was able to reconnect with no problem.

Thanks, I knew about the clear the library selection, but it did not

first in Slimserver is the one used for my Main audio setup.

Yes, this is strange. It doesn't happen with every album, just some of
them. When playing the same file in foobar the song does not cut off.

I'm a longtime Slim user (still have an original Slimp3) who usually
stays far from the bleeding edge server releases. I've been using
5.4.1 for a while and it's been very solid.
An interest in playing with GoCubs' SuperDateTime screensaver prompted

Slimserver only uses folder names to distinguish albums from each other
when it can't figure it out from tags.
Are the tags correct? (Case matters...) Are some of these double
albums that are being counted as (Disc 1) and (Disc 2)? You can get

Most average users likely use WMP or iTunes. The lossless choices
are WMA or M4P. I think if you asked an average user what FLAC was,
