Thanks for the info. No, no crash log. The thing is, slim doesn't crash. It just becomes unresponsive. When I issue the service slimserver restart I am told that it ends ok, rather than receiving any service wasn't running messages. That's what's so frustrating, it's as if it gets into a

Ben, Here's a cleaned up, anti-aliased New image based on the one created by davep. I still used the slanted note, and moved the starburst to the left side of the note as it fits better. If you like this, I'll create you the active image as well. I'm doing these in Photoshop and they are

[slim] small amplifier recommendations?

2006-01-09 Thread eradicatore
Does anyone know of a nice small stereo amplifier that maybe turns on automagically if it sees a signal? I want to put a SB3 in my bedroom with maybe some nice inwall speakers, and don't want a big clunky receiver up there if I can avoid it. I would probably still like 50+ watts though per

[slim] Softsqueeze 2.3 skipping

I just downloaded and installed Softsqueeze 2.3 hoping that would solve the synchronization problem. Unfortunately Softsqueeze now skips (or better from time to time repeats part of the song, like 1 second or so). Very annoying. Anyone else hearing this? My platform is Windows 2000.

Thanks, MrC! I think the icon has a bit skinnier style than the rest on that page, but it doesn't bother me much. I checked it in (I made an 'active' gif as well)...give it a look when you get a chance. cheers #!/ben -- bklaas

Heaters here tend to be the fan blowers which take the temp up to about 20 deg celcius or so. The side effect of these is that the humidity then drops to 30 dgrees or so if the humidifier isn't on. That said, I'm sure lots of SB users are probably usign SB's in these conditions already. Not

The NSLU2 is one slow device. I ran some tests on it *after* I over clocked it and the slug took nearly 4 hours to backup 21GB of data across the network to a USB 2.0 drive enclosure. FWIW, I tested both ways by backing up from the slug to the PC while the drive was NTFS then formatted Ext3 and
