However, I can send MM playlists to SlimServer from the MM executable.
So, for now, I guess that's good enough. I just don't understand why I

Thanks for the help. But just to emphasize, you need to change the
settings in the SlimServer software for your device. You cannot access
these settings from the settings menu on the device itself using the
remote.

Like we said, the transporter uses the same remote codes as the other
SD products, so it'll work just as well with a Pronto.

should focus on freeing up some space on your primary drive. Running
with 500MB free is not recommended.

OK I think what is happening here is that expired items are not being
removed on a regular basis, because removal only happens the next time
get() is called, and if you're just playing music from your local drive
or not using SlimServer at all, it won't get called and cleaned up.

That's consistent with my observations. After using SS during the day
regularly, the FileCache size is relatively small. I've only noticed it
being large after SS has been idle for quite some time.

automatically start Slimserver (I thought it was for the interface).
After realizing my mistake, I tried to set slimserver to automatically
start but could not find where to do so. So I re-installed 6.5.0 on

OK I've added a periodic cleanup of the FileCache (at startup and once
an hour). This should keep the size at a normal level. The first time
you run SlimServer it may take a bit of time to clean out the old cache
items, but should be fast after that.

If you're using iTunes and haven't specified a music folder path, then
there's no way to browse by music folder. Currently SlimServer only
supports a single music folder, so using shortcuts is a good solution.

My iTunes music folder is at E:\My Music\iTunes\...
iTunes puts the music in a subdirectory under that folder; however it
puts its XML and ITL files in C:\Documents and Settings\Don\My

will generate tags for you - all in one go if you like, though you might

artworks listing is gone. Is the permenant change?
I have to fall back if it is, I only use artwork to browse my albums
which is a great feature, just like the old days you're looking for a
CD on the rack.

Depending on your wifi, you may be able to put a booster wireless point
(or even just a powrful antenna) to improve things.

OK, take one of your WAV files and save it to your desktop. Rename it.
Then add it back into your iTunes library. Check the properties, just
the name should be set. Now convert it to AIFF. Check with SS for
volume adjustment - sure as hell shouldn't be any.

Ran into a strange one.
I tried to verify an external disk in disk utility (which has my music
on it) and got a report the disk won't unmount cannot verify.
Force quit perl in activity monitor and then I could verify the disk.
Obviously perl (slimserver) was holding onto the disk.
Is this proper
Proper linux/unix behaviour. For instance, when I'm using XMMS on linux
*if* any of the songs in the playlist are referenced from a mountpoint
I'm trying to remove it'll error. I would expect the same thing in OS
X. Its an OS thing and not a slimserver thing.
