world no problems.
How, when and what to transcode to is a setting inside SqueezeCenter .
Capabilities in this regard may vary depending on OS.

For the most part it works like this, the controller(s) ir-remotes
web-UI whatever talks squeezecenter, squeezecenter talks to the
players.
So if the controller is unresponsive does not automatically means that
the reciever is not working, sadly controller is the most sensitive
part.

EAC is also good but is not as plug and play as dBpower amp, but it is
free, you have to get the covers from other source possibly using mp3tag
finess the tags and add images .
EAC is highly flexible so you can probably make it tag the right way.

Some people with display problems have removed their prefs files or
whole cache folder or done a completely clean install .
I had this between some older versions similar reasons clean install
