certainly makes sense to replace them. The voltage rating should be at
least 10V but

Own a couple of Transporters bought recently. Dont have these issues
but decided to buy a few of these just in case.
Great thread to stumble across.
I suspect some believe if the screen has died its an expensive screen
replacement and not just a £10 circuit board.

Thanks to this thread, I was able to find and order a replacement supply
for my Transporter, and it has it's displays again! Yay! On the
theory, that my second transporter is the same age as the first, I
bought two, and now have a backup. Thanks for posting the link.

When replacing the display PSU with a matching one, has anyone tried
adding heatsinks to the power transistors? There is stuff about putting
longer legs on the capacitors and such like, but wouldn't it be better
to get the heat out of the board in the first place?

I have also had the same problems with one of my Transporters stopping
working. Thanks to all of the great help on this forum, I swapped out
the PS board to check. Sure enough, I was working in minutes. I really
appreciate the assistance.

Interesting, I did actually consider putting some insulation under my
new psu but figured that if it was going to short then it would short on
the mounting posts anyway.

Nice! Good idea. I recall that my shipping costs (to the US) far
exceeded the cost of the replacement PSU units. So I bought 4
replacements (same shipping cost as 1 PSU unit). I hope I'm good for

Another Transporter saved from the grave, had to do a factory reset but
now it works hopefully for another 10-15 years.
Order the part, 2, yesterday from Rapid Electronics and got it today.
The shipping was £21 and the parts £18.

I'd be concerned about heat with the encased variety.
As for the Lambda, one could get away with mounting it with just one
screw. (Maybe stick a piece of rubber underneath for added support)

I think you're good. The Meanwell MPM-30-5ST has the right voltage and
is well over the required amperage (the original has 5V / 2.3A, the
meanwell delivers 5V / 6A). That's no problem at all, it might even last

I just looked and the fuse is fine. I ordered the new board today in
the hope it is the issue. Keeping my fingers crossed. Right now the
unit does not switch on at all (cannot hear relay) and I do not see it
on my LAN. I hope it is not something bigger than the display board.

I, too, am a successful power supply replacer. Likewise, figuring out
how to get inside was the hard part for me. (4 screws on each side of
the unit, with a 1/16th hex mini-screwdriver.) The PSU comes out with,

another transporter rescued, and it was just as easy as Gary suggested.
12 screws, 8 to slide the top off, 4 to remove the board, and i'm back
in business.

Allen wrenches are better. As I remember it, a little force was
required to get the screws start
