Here in western Europe, there's some propagation in the evening, just before
sunset (i-e abt 18 :00 or 19 :00 UTC) quite a few European, African and

I only use the DSP filter anymore.

Same as normal scanning, but hold the PFx button in for two seconds
until you see AF ON on the display.
If you don't see this, you'll need new firmware.

First, welcome and congratulations on becoming a new ham.
If you look at the value of R18 and R19 (on the schematic), you will find
they are zero ohms - in other words, the jumpers are the 'resistors' - you
will find no zero ohm resistors in the kit parts, simply use jumper wires.
