Further checks on this - I reloaded the old FW back to Beta 5.35 and the problem existed in that one so I loaded the current production version 5.38 and it occurs there as well so I went back to the test version I've been using. Once programmed, the memories work as they should, they just

[Elecraft] K3S bug in FW Beta 5.46 Keyer Memories

2016-05-25 Thread Jim Sheldon
Just found a bug in the keyer memories when programming for PSK/RTTY. The memory loads fine until you send the ..__ (IM) character to terminate transmission and then it locks up as if you had a constant "key down" with a hand key. I was programming memory 4 to call CQ on RTTY when I

Re: [Elecraft] PTT KEY CONFIG setting volatile?

It may be something unique to the K3S. My older K3 didn't do it, but the new K3S (#10641) always reverts to PTT KEY OFF-OFF on a power cycle. must be a glitch in the FW. It IS completely repeatable as the OP stated. Definitely call Elecraft Support on it. Jim - W0EB -- Original

I have 3 Acer monitors (one 19" square and two 23" wider screen). The 19" runs directly on 120VAC and the twp 23" ones have small switching mode power supplies that look like laptop supplies and put out 13.8/14 volts. The switcher supplies for these 2 monitors appear to be virtually noise

RTTY acronym, "unshift on space". Machines had to be shifted into figures and stayed there until shifted back to letters. Unshift on space was devised to bring the receiving machine back to letters when a spacebar character was received to keep from printing gibberish if the shift to letters
