Pete, The first thing to check for a HI CUR warning is the power supply voltage under full transmit load. If it is low, it will cause a HI CUR condition. The other thing that could cause it is a problem in the T/R switch or Low Pass Filter - the fact that it continues into an RX cycle points

Talk top Keith who does tech stuff for Elecraft. This started happening after I put my 2M module in... Then I slipped with a screwdriver and shorting a resister so Keith fixed it all for me. Not sure WHY it was throwing High CURR, but he got it all fixed up a couple of years ago.  :)

Ferrites are probably not the answer here. Problem showed up with no changes in configuration, and problem happens with a dummy load. Plus I have ferrites in most of those locations already. This only happens on 40 meters and happens both with antenna connected and when dummy load connected. On

Do you have *anything* connected to the RX ANT or the unused TX antenna jack? The K3 is "thinking" it sees a high RF level on the receive input. Remove everything from the K3 except the power and see if you still have the problem. The reconnect each cable one at a time and test again.

Matt is entirely correct. The first thing to investigate in the event of a Hi Current message is the voltage (as indicated by the K3) level during transmit. The way Elecraft transceivers control power, a low voltage means that higher current must be obtained to maintain the requested power

Bruce, It would appear to me that something has happened in your 20 meter Low Pass Filter. The K3 should develop 100 watts with about 17 amps of current. As I indicated previously, the most common problem would be with the LPF. Contact K3support for additional assistance and steps to

To the list: I occasionally get the Hi Current warning on my K3. I notice it cuts my power back about 10% from 100w. My initial assumption is that my SWR is too high - but the SWR meter is easily less than 2.0 I run the ATU which confirms SWR about 1.2 or so. So what am I missing - something

I was doing something odd. Stock 2.7KHz filter, CW mode, V4.61. Removed all equalization. Wanted to adjust high cut or low cut. Tapped shift control. Did not revert to high cut/low cut mode. Ditto for tapping width control. Can't simulate this with shift because of it's limited range.

First, why is does high cut not go to 2.7 KHz? That is the way the DSP is designed. High and Low Cut are limited to pitch +/- half the filter width. Based on your data, it looks like your pitch is 500 Hz. BW for this set of data is 2.7 in the BW/SHIFT mode. Can't be ... you may have
