electret (condenser) type - which means it needs bias to operate.
Problem is that the listing on mic pins shows +8 volts separately -

considered that. I'm driving it off a powered hub with a 2nd adapter from the

I've noticed the very same thing - PTT activation does not stop the DVR.
Also, when you program a loop delay time, the message will not repeat
indefinitely, it stops after 5 or 6 repetitions - seems like it should
repeat forever until you interrupt it???

No gotchas, but on the RF board, solder the grounding leads low on the
crystals, and ground them on both sides. On the KSB2, consider also

The file K3UtilityVersionInfo.txt included in K3fw2r78.zip is out of date. It
shows
CurrentVersion = 1.1.10.17
Its namesake in the released directory shows
CurrentVersion = 1.2.1.6
Dunno if that might have an effect on the upgrade process to beta 2.78. I will
fix my copy before upgrading.
I downloaded K3 Utility 1.2.1.6 and beta FW 2.78 and ran the TX Power
Calibration. Really slick! On the 5W calibration, I got the message
that the SWR was too high [2.5:1] from my dummy load [part of my MFJ
antenna tuner] on 6m. The 50W run went just fine. K3 works fine,
although I don't
The calibration should be fine on the rest of the bands.
It's a good thing that the last band calibrated is the one you had problems

I've posted a few photos of the modifications that I made at the same time I
installed the KDVR3. Modifications include:
- External ALC Modification and Optional Pull-Up resistors for Band Outputs
- AF Stage Upgrade - Line Out and Speaker Amplifier (the easy way using
the SMD resistors)
My result? Probably #2 World, #1 USA, and a new USA SOHP record. Put
me down as another greatly satisfied K3 user.

The K3 mods and improved Utility works really great. Europe is
coming in S6 - S9 on 80 mtrs in NY through heavy QRN and it just seems
like the K3 is working at its best. I would have to say that my

antennas. When a new band is indicated by the radio, the KRC2 will

with a remote tuner without turning on the amp. That way when I operate the
amp is loading into a tuned circuit via the K3 tuning mechanism. I have the
