I use TEST mode in exactly the way you do, and have long had the same
issue with it not persisting when power is cycled. I've mentioned it
more than once on this reflector but a rationale hasn't been offered.
To my mind a safe condition, once established, should remain that
way until the operator
Yes, it happens here, but only after pressing TUNE. This was reported
on the list last Friday, with a response from Wayne stating that it
would be fixed right away.

Apparently NR *is* upstream of AGC, since a while back NR was
disallowed unless AGC was enabled [1] in order, according to K2VCO, to
prevent instability [2].
By the way, I can observe this instability (a wup-wup oscillation)
in LSB/USB modes with an S9 carrier, and AGC settings on the light
side
on either the K3 or the outboard power meter.
So with AGC SLP=5, THR=5, NR enabled, VOX enabled, tuning through S9
carrier triggers this on USB/LSB, but not CW.
Very strange.

Don't know about your red light...Do you have a mic connected?

The funny thing is that an amp *was* developed, shown at Visalia, and
announced on this list:

It's documented in the D2 manual, page 33, in the CW Text Decode Tips section:
The K3 uses slow AGC during CW text decode,
overriding the selected AGC setting.
So it's normal.

If you have VOX enabled, it may be that strong signals sent to the
sound card via line out are coupling back via line in and triggering
transmit. If so try reducing VOX gain. I ran into a variation on this
theme involving use of NR when tuning through AM signals.

Rule #1: If you plan to use a particular filter for both transmitting
and receiving (main receiver), you’ll need to
install it on the RF board. You can optionally install a filter of the
same or similar bandwidth on the sub
receiver for receive-only use. (This is recommended since
For years I've used a a Z-match tuner I built using very husky
components - big transmitting variables, salvaged 3 diameter silver
plated tank coil and a 9:1 gear reduction drive for the main tuning
cap. It works very well tuning a doublet fed with 450 ohm window line

One thing to consider - According to the P3 announcement:
It's the same height and depth as the K3, and about 6 wide...
Which implies, if I'm interpreting this correctly, a max display size
of less than 4 x 6. Using LP-PAN and latest PowerSDR I can have a
much bigger spectrum display on my 21
What mode are you in? The 10 Hz passband shift applies only to CW and
