ship your K3 until your KRX3 is available, I think you will still have a

I've never seen the behaviour you described. (VFO encoder not responding
until a key is pressed, after being idle for several minutes). Sounds like
some kind of issue with your rig. I would reload all firmware, including

I don't recall seeing this mentioned. Perhaps overlooked amongst the hoopla
about the impending P3, and the latest K3 firmware and mods. Elecraft
released an application note for the K2 on August 10th. I don't remember
seeing this before, but it has a copyright date of 2008, and a rev A release
does what it is labelled to do.
OK, so can we now re-open the discussion about which way the up/down band

I installed the KRX3 subreceiver in my K3 last night/this morning. Things
went pretty well, with just a couple of trivial typos in the instructions. I
have the KRX3 configured on, and have just 1 filter, 2.8Khz in position FL2
at this time. All other slots configured off.

7/27/07 to be shipped within 7-10 days.
I took note of the price increases back in January, and those posted today.

I don't believe that either the K2 or the Icom IC-7000 are suitable for
satellite use. For optimum performance and minumum frustration, you really
need full-duplex, cross band capability. You must be able to transmit on one
band, while simultaneously receiving on another band. I don't

If I recall correctly, the BNC connectors are on the top lid, the RCAs on
the lower panel. If you use the BNCs, you will have to disconnect them
(unsolder) to completely remove the top cover for service. I think that is

If you will look at the photo #2 at the lower right quadrant of page 32- You
will see that what you are to cut are the bits of the pins that stick out of
the back of the small board attached to the encoder. Do this before you
install the encoder. This is done to prevent these from shorting
