The packaging used to say “Dynamic” mic. But it’s not. It’s an electret.

I use the RF Gain to control K3S output to FT8. I think I read somewhere that
you should also turn OFF AGC.
I also use RF Gain to reduce band hiss when operating. Reduces fatigue.

Frequency drift comes to mind.
The HF ATU probably won’t do anything for VHF.
Let the radio warm up for half an hour before doing anything with VHF.
Remember 1PPM at VHF is 144 Hertz.
You need the high def oscillator and maybe the Ref In.

Look at Sound Settings. What is your input and output device. It should be

LinOut is also on the USB cable. It would show as Audio CODEC on computer sound
input devices.
Usually, USB IN/OUT use will disable if the 1/8 jacks are used (according to
manual).

Yes. It has been mentioned on this list that the KPA500 is designed to be most
efficient at 500 Watts and running at lower power does not mean saving the amp.

Try reducing the output level from the computer to about one third from the
bottom of the scale. This will give you finer resolution with the LinIn control
on the radio giving you finer control.
