I have fair-to-middlin' CW skills, and I've operated a lot of CW
contests. I was surprised and disappointed to hear so many high
on. I
personally did not see that many super speed ops but I did not S until
late in the contest when most ops were begging. There were definitely some
very good ops last weekend and I enjoyed all of my QSOs.

Does it overdrive only initially after changing bands and then goes to the
normal band set output? I do not have a KPA-1500 but I seem to recall
seeing something like this with my K3S.

Sr's right now so that could be an option.

I really like the Sony MDR 7506 for <$100 that I believe you use for music
listening but it also has no mic.

it for $109.95 + $19.95 shipping and they have a poor delivery rating.
Another Amazon seller has only 1 product review and it is not available with

Is the Yamaha CM500 still being manufactured?

They're nothing special; you can dial in equalization just as well in
the K3S. I bought the Heil with my K3 and quickly gave up on them.
The Yamaha CM500 plugs into the rear (with bias) and the headphones are
comfy
I have a Heil PR40 which has always received great reports with my K3S. To the
extent that I am not hankering for CESSB on the K4.

no issues
ever. N4ZR posted a similar question two months ago when someone else had
multiple LDMOS failures and I did not see any responses.

Good morning,
I have a K4 serial # 00977. It works great, but the power level is set
at a maximum of 10 watts. It used to be 110 watts.
Evidently I must have hit the wrong button? Any ideas??

Most of your responses posted on this list have no text. I am not a tech
either and probably would have just shipped it right back but I am wondering
if it transmitted prior to your repair? Did you check to see if it is in
"test" mode?
