Hello all,
My copy of BS EN 60950-1:2006 has no clause 2.7.4 is this correct or an
omission? I can't find any indication of what has happened to it.
Also after clause 2.7.1 there is a statement detailing that 'This subclause
has been declared void'
Is this a clause numbering error which has

Don,
Yes, I have. These are custom mains transformers inherited from a former
division of our company. I often wondered why the detail drawings required
them to be CE marked. I have been removing that requirement as we specify new
transformers. In fact, I would truly like to come up with a

Don,
Yes, I've certainly seen a CE marking on internal transformers. I would not
say that it is necessarily universal practice, but it certainly exists. In
such a case, I would expect the harmonised standard to be one of the parts of
EN 61558.

Ed,
There is a great deal of information about Kapton wire on the internet. Some,
of course, extols its properties, but much condemns it, particularly for use
in aircraft. If you simply enter 'Kapton wire' in a search engine (I like

Has anyone ever noticed a CE mark on an internal transformer?

Dear Forum Members,
Shawn,
I believe the requirement is adopted from toys industry, EN71 and this best
practice spreads to all other industries, i.e., electronics, electrical
appliances, garments, etc.
If the plastic bag has an opening perimeter of greater than 380 mm, the bag
shall be made of a plastic film
Hi Ed:
Check out the Du Pont Kapton MSDS web site:

The MSDS refers to a bulletin on safe handling

I am not aware of any regulation governing this, but I believe such marking is
