Hi Kent,
No, on this one I'm using the stock Arduino electronics - it
was easier to set up and it works fine. I'm using the Marlin
firmware and Repetier host software on an Ubuntu 11.x box
(with Mono to allow the Repetier to work in the linux
environment). I'm also using Slic3r to post-process

In EMC.ini I have PROGRAM_PREFIX = /home/la/emc2/scripts.
This seems to affect defaults for both script and gcode files.
I would like to have different paths for script and gcode files.
Can I have that?

Thanks for the information. To be honest I thought the 3phase motor
would be better than the dc one.
I have a small chinese mill and I toasted either the motor or its
controller by pushing the mill beyond its limits. The motor got very hot
and suddenly the house rcd tripped and kept tripping ea

One surprisingly goog utility I use for stitching photos together is M$

What I did for my Sieg KX1-NU machine, is that I put a dial indicator on each
axis; move the axis 10mm one way, and see if it works. Then move it back, th

Sometimes the simplest statement is the most profound. I liked this one
so much I thought it should be repeated.

I don't think the POSITION_FILE works reliably w/ steppers. When you shut
power off a stepper, it wants to move to a full step position (where it
'cogs'). Power was being applied to hold it at a partial step which is no
longer available. So when you turn power off, the machine moves slightly.

Hi,
I am replacing the dc motor on my mill with a 3phase motor + inverter as
part of its conversion to CNC. Here in the uk there are several
companies that sell inverters together with a remote pendant. My
question is can I arrange it so that I can switch between using the
pendant for manual us

Being new to EMC I am having problems with the axis positions. When I have
competed a job and need to switch off the computer and restart later, the
axis positions of the machine at switch off are not maintained. Is there
some way of doing this or is ti a problem with my set up.

I just pulled the latest hm2 git to build my own flavor of bit file,
and pulled linuxcnc 2.5
After everything is built, I'm getting the following error:

Gene,
I've been considering cnc-ing my little 7 x 12 for a while
now but other things have had to take priority. However, I
can't see why you wouldn't just want to hang a little Nema
17 motor direct onto the back of the cross slide screw. One
of the 60 oz/in motors advertised on Ebay for about
most pcb's are specified as a 'Gerber-file'. the language is very much
G-code related BUT. . .
it specifies the thickness of the pen (or the aperture) and the
cooordinates of the track that is drawn with it.
But for milling we need the "negative" i.e. the coordinates of the
isolation between the
PCB-Gcode is written in ULP Language. As long as gEDA doesn't support
this programming language you can't use it. I think it was originally
written only for eagle.
