Has anyone heard of, tried out, or is anyone using the
Texstar pclinuxos live-CD? It appears to be a Knoppix
like bootable CD except it is made with the Mandrake
distribution. I no longer have a nice fast connection
to download this iso, so any comments would be
appreciated.

Just for general information, Knoppix has a hard disk
install script that will install the full Knoppix
(Debian) distribution to your hard disk. I just did
this and had no problems and the Knoppix CD was the

In 4 hours time the IP changed from xx.xxx.123.178 to
xx.xxx.153.225. That is not the real ips of course,
but that is a large range to let in. If it were just
the last 255 it wouldn't be so bad. I think I still

I have installed Storm 2000 on a machine and intend to use it as a
firewall. I'm sure I have too much installed as I just went for the
"normal' installation.
There are 2 Novell/Eagle NE2000 Plus ISA cards in the machine with the
IOs @ 0x300 and 0x340, the IRQs @ 10 and 11. Neither one was
I did exactly that and was still only able to get one card reconized.
If this causes too much more trouble I will try to scrape up another
card. Like you say, it would make things easier.
