ok my delema is i have a cd burner that is connected via pcmcia card and it registers
as a ide adapter, is there any way i can use it as linux has programs that only use
scsi based cd burners.
also another isue is no matter which file tool i use like nautilus or such if i go to
the directory
ok well im an et in the navy so i might be able to help, now you have ip addresses and
hub and new cables however you must also check access rights now usually with a unix
based system there are host databases which contain ip address host name and security
access(may or may not be included)
ok i need alsa 0.5.10 because its the only one compatible for my sound card however
the only rpms i find are made for a slightly newer kernel 2.2.19 i am running 2.2.17
and i cannot upgrade do to bandwidth constrictions,
can anyone help find or make
alsa-0.5.10_2.2.17.rpm?
i think that is one of the microscopic things i liked about win2k is if i didnt like
something on the menu or i wanted to add something i could right click on where i
wanted it or what i wanted to delete and make the change right then and there,
if i could write code better i would change it
well i agree windows has screwed up your partitions,
you may be able to use partition commander to repair the damage, but as for salvaging
your data, most likely only windows data can be salvaged, im unsure how to salvage
data from linux partitions, the cause seems to be that when windows was
well using lspcidrake it gave me
cirrus logic|crystal cs4281 pci audio (multimedia_audio unknown)
vendor=0x127a device=0x2013 (unknown unknown)
i also rebooted my linux box and then tried to get a listing of modules using cat
/proc/modules
and all of the snd modules were gone, tried
hi im trying to configure my sound card to work in linux, alsa has recently released a
compatible driver for my sound card however i need to find info on the i/o port and
dma channels to update
/etc/conf.modules,
i am using a crystal fusion cs4281 pci soundcard in
a toshiba satellite laptop.
i have changed the password to the encrypted version but still cannot log on
i guess you are refering to the double copies of email, i think it may be the users fault since not all emails are duplicated
so everybody please quit double clicking on your send button
? well some people have all the bad luck, me i like linux i just cant get the darn thing online, to many windows ap isp's around here
uhm yes they do they are the major stock holders of apple computers!
didnt you ever watch that biography on tbs called the pirates of silicon valley?
all good no bad i dont think there is a bad to reiser fs
well this is the only thing i liked about windows when it came to file system converting, i was able to convert the whole system without moving any files. into a new filesystem without any problems i wish i could do that here with my ext2 sysytem into rieserfs
what do you think for an average user is the file system stable enough and offer enough advantages to warrant switching file systems??
well can you give an example on how the name is supposed to be typed, i tried it in windoze first and couldent connect
netzero encrypts the password into a different password, there is a special program that encrypts it for you so you can use the new password with linux but im not sure where it is on the net,
in my case i cant get kppp to get that far i get "pppd daemon died unexpectedly"
ping of death, sends a signal as direct as possible to the other users ip address, this sometimes knocks there computer off line

im not sure about nts system tools but win2000's will let me
well i would say get the damn module and see if it works, it obviously is
programmed to not complete the process for a reason, so their must be a tid
bit of additional info from those modules that it needs to complete, just try
it and if it doesnt work, dont throw a tantrum just calm down
i still say its a bug yolu discovered!

i have a mandrake cd and a friend of mine doesnt have a cd rom drive, so i
was thinking of copying the whole cd and sending it as one compact file
trying to fit it in a zip file for him wouldnt be ideal it would be quite
large so what could i do?
