Michelle, If you have a cat with SCC, I would highly highly recommend doing the salve. If you join the group (I can send you an email from the group and you can join it) the woman who runs it generally makes the salve and you can get it from her. It's not expensive. I have seen it work

This sweet little orange baby was found starving in a ditch at a few weeks old. We got him as well as we could but he never managed to be symptom free. We gave him lots of love and hopefully made his short life better. He succumbed to his illness today at only five months old. It's amazing

An HCT of 8 is critical, if it isn't stopped very quickly, the cat will die shortly. My vet did transfusions on two of my FeLV cats, she should definitely seek a new vet. The vet should have been able to tell if the anemia is regenerative or non-regenerative. If non-regenerative, not

Baileys anemia was non regenerative and epogen and prednisolone kick started his red cell production and he did fine for almost 6 months, he passed from undiagnosed pancreatic cancer but his HCT when he passed was still at 33%. He started the epo when his HCT was at 18%, it dropped to 15%
