Gary,
When you have had the necropsies done, have they sent tissue samples
out??
When I lost my first distemper kitten, I had a necropsy done, but since the
$$$'s were a wee bit too high, I declined to send out tissue samples.
Then I lost a second one

Gary and Karen,
I'm so sorry about your losing the little ones. I wish I had the
answers. Parasites, Giardia and Coccidia do take a lot of little
lives. MC just lost several kittens one at a time. I don't think she
knows what claimed their lives. Sally too, just lost a litter one at a
time
I am so sorry Casper spent such a short time with you.
She has done a great job in making people aware of parasites and the death they
can bring so quickly to little ones. Maybe that was the job she had in her
short life. I am so glad she found love. Not every person can say

I started feeding my distemper "survivors" a raw diet when they were about
14 weeks old
However, my vet said to add additional dry food, so now they are on Innova
"EVO", which is formulated for ALL life stages.
It's an excellent food, and all the guys love it.

Kitten chow is basically a growth food...If the kitten is getting
overweight than stop feeding it...
I think its Purina that says feed for a full year...Thats probably a
good average time...
Kitten chow works well for older cats that have become under weight for
whatever reasons...
Like A/D it
PS. I forgot to say I would very much like a copy of the study faxed to

Hi Michelle,
My vets have told me a year, however, I keep kitten food in the mix (I rotate foods rather than feeding the same thing all the time) because it's higher in protein.

Wink is approximately 9 years old. She's tiny (right now only 4.5 lbs) and has always been that way. I don't think she ever weighed more than 6 lbs.
She is also hyper-thyroid. If she's a candidate for surgery, Dr. Bulakowski feels that it's reasonable to expect a 2-4 year extensi

Hi Hideyo,
Within the last year my vets have instituted a policy of no surgery without prior bloodwork. I've always done the bloodwork, anyway, but some folks are angry about the additional expense. Believe me, I understand all too well about the cost of vet care, but I'm not going to risk an a
