Hi Hideyo,
I will be picking her up today and ask the vet about fatty liver.
The kittens also have really bad diarrhea and are on albon. I am
going to ask him if I can give them some pedialyte to prevent
dehydration. Could I give Kitty pedialyte? I don't know if she has
dehydration though -
Nope--good ol' Nebraska! But, now that I know it's a Nigerian scam, it makes
sense. My sis in law had this happen--someone from Britain (supposedly--or
somewhere in Europe) got in touch with her to buy their house--said he was
moving here as a doctor, but was sending someone to inspect the house.
Hi Wendy,
He has it written down on Kitty's bloodwork (sorry, there was a pair
of senior owner surrenders turned in to me at the same time. Both are
now pretty gravely ill). I am thinking of not taking in any more
seniors. They do not do well in my home. It is really hard, but
young cats seem
Patti, I can't agree with you more! I take much better care of my furbabies
than I do myself! I think my husband might be jealous too! Just kidding of
course.but sometimes I wonder why I can't spend more time on me! I really am

Kelly, I hope your dreams come true! I can only hope to be independently

idea! Best wishes! Melissa

Ummm.I think I did this right-OT means off topic or some such thing? I'm new
to internet lingo, so bear with me.
Anyway, there's so much sad stuff that everyone is enduring and going
through, that I thought a discussion of the good stuff would help raise some
spirits. Of course, my prayers and
Hi Kelly, Oh so precious! At least you've got some happy times to get you
through all the medical troubles you're having! Poor things, being so
sick--but what a trooper! I like to think that kittens can warm even the

This is true, one size doesn't fit all, (even though most of us feed
that way). I was just thinking about that when I posted to the list
with my turkey recipe. Gypsy needs the pure bran and pumpkin in her
diet, but other kitties might not. You have to be careful about the
calc/phos ratio
A kitty with liver disease (in the beginning stage) also drinks lots of
water, or at least mine did.. I don't know why they still think it's
diabetes when the blood work shows it's not - do you know? You might
want to ask them.
You could give kitty pedilyte - but it will be better if you can
Let me brag about Dixie Louise Doodle Katt, JP. A couple of weeks ago we
were in Louisville where her vets and alternative vet are. Dixie hadn't
been eating well and, therefore, not using her litter box as much as I felt
she should---especially with the recalls. I explained to
luckily, we are forbidden by law (or obscenity standards, i keep forgetting
which), to ever be seen in the real world in uniform hee hee.

Kelley, if they are ruling out one thing at a time, if there's even a
suspicion of fatty liver, they should be checking for it FIRST because
time is so very important! My Luc had it a little over a year ago,
possibly brought on by pancreatitis (although by the time we noticed he
was off and got
I agree completely -- I feel that you may want to find another vet as I
just don't know if he knows completely what he is doing.

Ok, well, I talked to the vet and she still has not urinated (which
has me concerned) but he has come to the conclusion that she is just
one of those cats that wants attention all the time. She has FINALLY
started eating on her own (first time she has done this) but he says
she will watch to see
Kelley - I hate to say that but your kitty is not urinating because she
does not want not because she cannot -- there is someone on a different
list brought her cat to her vet and kept their two days until he
urinated as he was a CRF kitty -- and I asked her to bring him home
right away, it was
Could we post the recipes ON list, preferably with a subject line that
indicates it is a new recipe posting? I've set up a separate email folder to
collect the recipes. The way new products keep getting added, I'm afraid it's
just a matter of time before I see Friskies canned on the list too.
Thanks for the info Kelley! I should look into that, and ask my financial
advisor, well, my cousin, for some help with setting one up. Melissa

Would anyone mind sharing me the ages of your FELV cats and age of diagnosis.
Thanks so much
Kelly
Tucson - indoor only cat since she was an 8 week old kitty; SNAP test neg at
8 weeks; diagnosed age 5; just turned 9 is a hefty 18 lbs; vets believe
she was harboring virus all along but first test was done before it would
show up
Romeo - outdoor stray for the first part of his life; never sick
I can't tell you how old Dixie is. She has been a house cat for appx 2
years with me. She was a throw away who hung out at my Mom's for 3-4 months
before she was diagnosed and became a house cat. She was full grown and had
been spayed. I don't know if this is any help or not. General
Tomi and Kisa are both about 2.5 years old. I found them when they were
approximately 2-3 months old.
They were both diagnosed with FeLV five weeks ago. My guess is that one of
them had the virus before we took them in, and gave it to the other one
since they spend so much time together.
Cassidy: about 1 year old, diagnosed last week (when rescued) with Elisa
test still waiting on results from IFA test. Will retest in 3 months.

Cricket, who passed away in Nov. of 2005, was 4.5
years old. He was diagnosed at 2.5 years, when he

did not take the diagnosis seriously until he got sick
in September of 2005. It's a long story, but
basically I thought he had a false positive
Hey guys,
I went on my first site visit tonight with my friend

she and I both had were that the family already has 5
dogs and 5 cats. They live in a regular subdivision

the bridge at 9 months and Sweet Pea at 11 months. Smudge diagnosed at
about a year (not confirmed by IFA test) lived with Timmy and Sweet Pea from
the time they were about 5 months. Smudge tested negative at 2 1/2.
Hey Kelley,

expensive than anywhere else I've looked. Have you
