Cindy, I will send you the invitation to join – I am in México right now, and
was having problems with internet connection…will try anyway, OK? All I need
is your name and address, and have both. Hope it works from here….

When you become a member, please describe and send your cat’s diagnosis, and
everyone will jump right in and help you with suggestions, help, and lots of
moral support, etc. I will also send you Pat’s address (keep it handy for the
future) and how to order the salve and herbs for the tonic. If the growth is
outside, easily accessible, it will work…or the vet may have to make a tiny
incision or needle hole so that the salve can seep into the tumor.

Natalie =^..^=

You ask me to invite you to join the 2053 Googlegroup…..Once you are a member,
you can look through the archives, see success stories where salve was used on
people and animals, get all the info on how to get salve and where to order the
herbs to make the tonic (or buy small amount from list owner). It really is
miraculous – one man’s arm was saved from amputation, a horse’s eye with cancer
saved, many bunny and rat owners are members because those poor little critters
get cancers….

You can actually look salve and tonic online, but they are NOT the same and are
much more expensive….

If you would use the salve as soon as possible, so it can still seep in through
the incision, it would be ideal. It will come back if it had tentacles and it
was most likely squamous cell….

I would look for someone who may have a colony of cats that are cared for by
someone….the kittens would become tame, though, if given a chance!

I have never heard of this black salve.  Does it really help?  Where can I get
more information on it and the group?  I should get the pathology results back
in a few days.  I have felt a couple of very small knots on other parts of his
body so I am afraid it has spread.  The vet did take out a couple of lymph
nodes too.  I just can't get over how big this one was & how I could have
missed it until now.  The vet told me that this one will come back and he was
afraid it would be pretty soon.  He said there was no reason to try to remove
it or any others because they would just come back.  I plan on spoiling him for
however long he has left.  When he seems like his quality of life isn't good
anymore then I will let him go.  Right now he is eating and playing.  He
doesn't act like anything is wrong.  I am so stressed out right now.  I trapped
a mom cat and her 2 kittens(although they are about 8 months old) and had them
spayed.  I found a
home for the mom cat but I still have the kittens which are feral and I can't
find a home for them.  They came from my work so I don't know anything else to
do but take them back to work and let them

live there & me keep feeding them.  Does that sound terrible?  I just can't
keep them.  Anybody got any ideas?  I won't take them to the shelter because
someone told me they would euthanize them if they are feral.   Now poor Smokey
is sick.  Thanks for your prayers and ideas for Smokey.  I will let you know
what the pathology report says.

Would anyone with a cat or dog that has had cancer removed be interested in a
black salve that would get to the rest of the tentacles that the vet may not
have been able to remove? It’s not expensive, but you would have to join a
group where you would get advice from people who have used it and lots of moral
support, too.  It is for people and animals…there’s also an herbal tonic for
cancer, you get the herbs, brew up the tonic, etc. REALLY WORKS!  In cases
after surgery, the salve would be able to reach the interior through the
incisions.

I do a lot of TNR on feral cats. I would return the 8 month old kittens to
your workplace. It's not terrible and that's what is recommended for most
feral cats. They will do better returning to their home rather than trying to
move them. Most feral cats that are relocated will run away to try to find
their way back home. That can be even worse than where they live. Sometimes
for various reasons there is no choice but to relocate but it's usually the
very last option for me. It is very hard to find homes for older feral kittens
and cats. Taming is possible but it would probably take a long long time, like
a year or more, and from my experience even then they will always be a little
skittish around everyone but the person who tamed them. I've had some older
kittens that tamed within a few months but most of my older feral kittens have
never totally tamed. It mostly depends on their personality. I've even got
one living with me right now that is about 10 years old. I've been feeding him
since he was a kitten. Last year he almost died so I brought him home to heal
and then I didn't want to put him back out so he stayed here. While he was
sick and confined I was able to pet him but as soon as I gave him freedom of
the house he went back to being feral and I still can't pet the little turd.
After 10 years of me feeding him and living with me for over a year he won't
get within a few feet of me. I just laugh about it. Like I said, their
personality has a lot to do with it, but in general taming an older feral
kitten will be difficult to say the least.

Yes, the shelter will euthanize. They cannot adopt them out since most people
come to get a cat they can pet so they have no choice but to euthanize.

Don't feel bad about having to return them to their home. It's sad but
sometimes there's no other choice. You have to be prepared because it's
dangerous for them to live outside like that and some don't live long lives but
lots of times there's nothing else than can be done for them but to take good
care of them for their short lives. However, I do have some feral cats that
I've been feeding for about 11 years. Getting them fixed will greatly extend
their life span. They won't fight and get infections which will kill them and
they won't roam for miles looking for a mate. You did a great service for them
by trapping them and fixing them so you should commend yourself. I do.
Anybody that can and will do that for a feral is a good person in my book.

If it seems the cancer has definitely spread for Smokey you should give the
salve and tonic a try. It's really cheap compared to most natural cancer
curing stuff that doesn't even work and worth a shot. If nothing else it could
make him feel better and extend his life some extra months.

It has been a very long time since I have posted anything.  I first found this site when my Smokey tested positive for feline leukemia.  He had a hard time at the beginning with fevers but we finally got that under control.  He has gone over 6 years with no problems or sickness.  The other day I felt a very large knot on his left front leg.  I took him to the vet to get it checked out.  He thought it was probably cancer.  He removed it today but he couldn't get all of it.  He described it as having tenticles going in all different directions.  He is sending it off to be sure it is cancer and what type.  I have never dealt with this before and Smokey's outlook seems pretty grave.  Any opinions would be greatly
 appreciated.Thanks,Cindy___Felvtalk mailing listFelvtalk@felineleukemia.orghttp://felineleukemia.org/mailman/listinfo/felvtalk_felineleukemia.org-Inline Attachment Follows-

I'll let Natalie talk to you about this since she has the most experience.
It's not something you can get off the shelf in a store.

I was going to try out Dr. Sam Chachoua's serum when my cat died the day it
was being shipped. You can watch his lecture and decide for yourself.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNoT8lb3aIs If yes, I can send you
contacts.

However, even if you could get a reduced fee through Dr. Sam's foundation,
the leg amputation would be a lot less expensive.

Re: [Felvtalk] Smokey

2012-02-07 Thread Maureen Olvey

Depending on how far it has spread and whether it has metatisized, amputating
the leg might be an option. Cats and dogs do great on three legs. We had a
cat in our rescue recently who had to have her leg removed all the way up like
to the hip. They didn't leave a nub or anything. Looked like she had never
bee born with a leg. Kind of weird looking but you couldn't tell the
difference at all in how she acted and played. Actually she had had some pain
in her leg before they removed it so once it was gone then she felt even better
and became more playful. Like I said, it may not be possible for various
reasons but if the vet says it would work and it's the only thing that would
get rid of the cancer then I would go for it.

Kathryn, I am so sorry about Smokey.  I know how much you wanted him to make
it.  Don't reproach yourself too much (I know you have to a little, 20-20
hindsight is  what we humans do best) for causing him pain trying to take care
of the mouth sores.  You were doing what you could to be a good mom, and we
often have to do things they don't like for their own good.  Gentlest of Bridge
vibes to Smokey.  I know he knows how much you loved him, and maybe he will
guide you to another kitty who needs you.  Brava for wanting to find one who's
been passed by, I always worry about the older ones who aren't kitten-cute
anymore.  Hugs.

I am so sorry to have to write this. We lost our sweet little Smokey cat. When
I took him to my vet before we left on vacation she told us that the sores in
his mouth were caused from the virus and that he was suffering. She said  there
wasn't anything that could be done. I just couldn't believe it because I
really thought he was doing so much better and that the sores were from herpes,
which I explained to her. She said no, sometimes these sores are caused from
the decease and that he was in great pain. Every time I think about the times
that I cleaned his little mouth it breaks my heart because I now know how much
I was hurting him. I was as gentle as I could be but I thought I needed to keep
the sores doctored and I really didn't realize how much pain he was in. Stupid
me, I thought I was helping him and that he was getting better.

After some time goes by, I plan on going to a rescue facility and adopting a
cat. I will try to get a little cat that has been passed by, maybe a little
older one, I don't really know, I figure I will know when I see him/her. Thank
you for all the information and support. You all were a great source of
information and support.

Sincerely,
Kathryn

Kathryn, you were doing your best to help Smokey not being stupid.  All we can
do is try our best. Smokey knew you loved him and cared for him.  Depending on
the cause many mouth ulcers can be treated.

Kathryn, you can buy it as a pill from a drug store and maybe in a capsule.  I
started with 500 mg caplets and they were tough to crush.  I ended up buying
the powder from iHerbs.

Much easier to work with.  I dissolve it in a little water, mix with food and
feed it to mine.

It occurred to me last night that I did not take the time to properly say my
condolences for the lost kittys such as Melina. It saddens me whenever a little
animal leaves us and my thoughts are sincerely with their owners. I've been
kind of preoccupied with Smokey. I really understand how these guys can effect
you, I think it's because they are so innocent and, like Smokey, are so
trusting. Every time I go to pet him, which is a lot, he purrs, even though
he's not feeling great.

I will be gone for six days on a previously planned vacation, (bad timing, I
know). However, he will be staying with my vet, I'm really hoping that she can
get his ulcers cleared up. I absolutely will get him on lysine. Just one more
question if you all don't mind: Do I get it in liquid form or is it a powder?

I'll email when I return to give an update. Can you send pictures on this site?
If so and if it's appropriate, I can send a picture of Smokey.

Thanks, again,
Kathryn

Wendy I am doing ok.Thanks for your concern.I really had the urge NOT to go to
Sids tonight. But my heart dragged me there as usual. Not the same without Melina
there. She was the first one I would look for and then I would carry her around
and do the cat check head count.I fell for that baby girl the second I laid
eyes on her.
Also keep Jaws in your prayers,he is not doing so well.Another one that wins
over your heart as soon as you meet him.
Thanks so much,
Sherry

2008-07-15 Thread Rosenfeldt, Diane
Kathryn, I am so sorry about Smokey. I know how much you wanted him to
make it. Don't reproach yourself too much (I know you have to a little,
20-20 hindsight is what we humans do best) for causing him pain trying
to take care of the mouth sores. You were doing what you could to be a
good mom, and we often have to do things they don't like for their own
good. Gentlest of Bridge vibes to Smokey. I know he knows how much you
loved him, and maybe he will guide you to another kitty who needs you.
Brava for wanting to find one who's been passed by, I always worry about
the older ones who aren't kitten-cute anymore. Hugs.

Diane R.
