If memory serves, IBM used to give away a Personal Edition of it,
but this was many years ago. Maybe they have changed that policy.

Do you have an Imsai with the "High Speed" Z80 CPU upgrade and 2 x 8
inch disk drive? Best I can do is 5 1/4 to 3 1/2 with CopyQM.
Sounds like this group has started 'Auld Lang Syne' early this year!

How about Intel's version of PL/M, I have a copy somewhere in my CD
pile. In the 70's I used to use it to make production testing
software when I was too lazy to use assembler.

That might be worth a lot of money to a museum, I know a friend that sold
a Altair for $40,000. I could kick myself, I owned Altair #19, personally
delivered and signed inside by Ed Roberts, I use to know him well. Funny
thing his dad use to look just like Jimmy Carter the President.

Just 25 geek points? That is a CAPITAL offence. The penalty for that is
usually revocation of geek status - down to dweeb. Please, turn in that
pocket protector, you are no longer worthy! :-)
P.S. If you had been busted down to nerd status (just about as low as
you can go), you are not allowed
Not currently. We had big plans for the scanner, but got sidetracked
when we implemented it. It will get more attention at some point in the
future and it will be much more functional.

That said, we have drifted (yes, with my help) hopelessly off topic
Can anyone give me a tip how I can get my
SDR 1000 to receive digital SSTV using programs such as HamPal? Using
the audio input from my TS2000 I can receive perfect pictures, but the same
audio out of my Delta 44 does not decode. Thanks for any suggestions you
can provide.

Does anyone have a supplier of 1 foot long delta 44 interface to pc
cables? The 3 foot one supplied by the manufacturer with the board is way
too long and may act as an antenna even with the clamp on toroids installed
around it.
Also am wondering if i can run a new xp computer software install

Use VAC, no cables required. Make darned sure you buy Vac 3.11 or later.

Windows XP loads fine with a Delta 44 installed. I had the unfortunate
displeasure of experiencing this first hand 3 times in one moth this
year. Something which I do not plan to repeat this year. :)

Several tens of messages and a few bottles
of wine later I have no idea what's going on but everyone have a happy

loft that is!

You need to set VAC (in PowerSDR Setup) to 48000 samples and stereo,
otherwise HamPal will not work. You may also need to increase the VAC buffer
above 512 to avoid PowerSDR from freezing up.
Make sure that VAC is the default sound device in windows (see the reference
given by Bob below)

Hi,
Has anyone had any experience using an external clock with the SDR-1000 they
would like to share? I built a 10 mHz GPSDO that seems to be working just
fine. It puts out a nice 1.7 V P-P sine wave into a 50 ohm load which is
within the +4 to +14 dBm range required by the SDR-1000. I
did you change jumpers SV1 and SV2 (which switch between differential
and single-ended clock input for the DDS chip)? I'm not sure what
difference that might make; when I did my phase noise tests, the jumpers
didn't seem to make much difference.
One other possibility might be a ground loop

Wonder what Byte Issue #1 might be worth?
Couldn't afford the IMSAI or Altair at the time. But read everything about it. Jumped in on the SOL-20 and got it as a kit of parts. Had to wait 6 months after the glamour adds started showing up in Byte. Didn't work at all at first, but a plated
