Wondering if I can use the OS X 10.5.8 installation I have on a harddrive, that was created on a G4, in my PowerMac Quad Core G5? Is the file system on a G5 different than a G4? Can I simply CCC my OS X 10.5.8 G4 to my G5? Could I just insert the SATA drive, also formatted on a G4, into the

Bill, If you are having trouble, read on. The only difference among 10.5.8 versions are most likely due to the differences in the hardware it's loaded on. It is running well on my G5 PowerMac tower. Until you are happy with it, don't remove the previous system if it's an update. Also,

I just received my Quad G5, and the Seller was kind enough to include the grey Tiger Install DIsk which includes my AHT 2.5.2. I'm going to look at the Black Retail OS X 10.5 DVD that I purchased a number of years ago, by Restart-ing holding down opt ... if it is on there, it should appear

My Quad has a bit of a problem, to be resolved at the Mac Doctor ... I believe that is why my installed G4 HD did not appear to work in my G5. It did show up on the Desktop, but having Startup issues caused it to not mount later. Time will tell ... once the G5 is up and running, all should
