Hi All,
Have a G5 2.0ghz DP (A1047) running Leopard 10.5.8. Recently it developed a
strange bug which I think must be hardware related. The mouse is plugged into
the keyboard and the keyboard is plugged directly into one of the rear USB
ports. When booting with the Option key held down to
I won't be moving to the forums. I think Wordpress stinks. And I really
enjoyed getting my info via email lists. Really sad about the change. Bye all.

As long as the specs are the same it's a non-issue. Just be sure that
the new battery fits snugly in the holder. I just had the same
experience with a new battery for my eMac. The new battery had a
shorter + terminal than the old one. But it fit quite snugly so no
worries! It's working

Just looking at harddrive prices for larger drives, it seems that it
might be worth my while to get a SATA controller card.
I don't know anything about them, though. Is there anything in
particular I should look for? Can I buy any SATA card, or does it
have to specify for Mac?

It sounds like you made a data DVD with a copy of a dmg file on it.
You want to make a movie DVD with the VIDEO_TS folder--that is if you
want something that will play by DVD Player.

to me like he has 10.5.7 on one partition and 10.5.6 on
another. The 10.5.7 system is messed up and not bootable, and now
it's starting up from the other one.

I think you mean hi cap kext. I only know of Intech's high
capacity driver. I use it on my older AGP G4, and I've never had
problems with it.

I was mostly confused by what iTunes was doing (where the timer
toggled between two seconds). At first I didn't know the files were
bad, but thought it was some problem with iTunes.

. I've been using it with ATT DSL for
about 3 years now. (I upgraded it from an older model when I had bad
DSL performance, and the older modem was suspected. Turns out the
older modem was fine too; the problem was outside the house.)

DiskWarrior again on the drive and it had one item that it fixed
and so far so good.

That means whenever I need to run Disk Warrior, it's best if I do it
from the FW drive (rather than the disk) so that I can see all my
partitions.
