Re: [Audyssey] HumanityMOO Temporarily Down
Hello Tyler, If you had read my warning, which is apparent you have not, what you said was neither constructive nor kind. It is one thing to disagree, dislike, or not want to involve yourself with a certain game or project, and quite another to publically insult or put down game developers that are creating what they personally like to create. Regardless of what you feel about the project it is always better to give constructive criticism/feedback which might over time improve the game rather than outright negativity. Perhaps you feel you are in the right in what you said, but as co-moderator of this list I feel what you said was not constructive. I feel it was a bit of an insult and a put down to Michael, and that is not allowed on this list. So please cease with the negativity. Thanks. Tyler Littlefield wrote: it was extremely constructive. Re: [Audyssey] USA Games News 10/24/2008
Hi Will, Not at this time. I've been completely redesigning the Mysteries of the Ancients engine to suppport the new creatures, story line, and redesigning all the levels from scratch. I've also had to make modifications to the enemy AI to support different weapons, speed, whatever. The centaurs are obviously going to be much faster than say a skeleton, and like in the Tomb Raider games I gave them the magical power of throwing fire balls at Angela Carter. The skeletons will attack you with swords, and I'm still trying to work on the third group of enemies. I want to add harpies to the game, but can't find the sound of flapping wings that sounds realistic enough to use. If I do add Harpies they will have the power of flight as well as be able to attack you with claws or I can give them a magic power like in the Tomb Raider games where they throw lightning bolts at you. To add to that I have some new music on order for the game, but I am waiting for In addition to that I have ordered some new music for the game, but I have to wait until November 1 to actually pay for it. In the mean time I have been making do by wrippping and using some of the music from the Tomb Raider games in place of the music i will be shipping with the game. By copyright law I can't obviously share sounds and music for Tomb Raider with the game, and all sounds and music must be original or specially licenced. Anyway, the point is right now the engine is undergoing extensive upgrades, modifications, and is not even stable for day to day testing let alone for a public Alpha or Beta right now. I'll certainly make the appropriate announcements when the time comes closer to a public release. As far as pre-ordering goes no one who has purchased Montezuma's Revenge or Montezuma's Return will have to pay for the game. They should be able to enter their product keys and it will activate the full game when 1.0 is released. Cheers. William Lomas wrote: hi tom isn't it possible for us to play at least one level of MOTA for now at least? i won't pre-order a game again as it has been about 2 years since i ordered monty the original game I am not attacking USA games as i understand the difficulties but no games seem to be coming out for xmas and yet for the sighted they always get loads regards will --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org. Hi tyler you are developing a mud right now. You want players and need players to make it worth while and make you feel your hard work was worth it. However if when it does come out people are continueing to spread negative comments about your project with no feedback given to improve your project how would you feel? Also how do you suggest you attract players when you are making one of the player bases upset at you? Everyone has opinion of a lot of things. However why bite the hand that feeds you? Re: [Audyssey] HumanityMOO Temporarily Down
I'll address the questions, though they may have been retorical. The mud I'm developing will more than likely end up creating it's own player base. With the builder I have, lots of thought is being put in to it, so I expect it will spread via word of mouth, and as our actions as an admin, and not off some other list with angry people. As for the player base, I'm not cadering specifically to the blind. I am making it a playable game, and won't be relying on maps and etc, but I don't expect it to be a blind-only mud; I will work for other player bases, and incorperate ideas that will gain more players. As a result, if people decide not to connect because of my comments about humanity, that's their perogative. I probably shouldn't have said everything I did, but it was said anyway. There is a difference here, and off-list. Here, Mike is the civilized human being that others would like him to be. Off list, he's threatened me with tons of stuff, like being hacked, etc. I'm not particularly worried about it, as apparently my internet connection still stays. His antics extend to flaming me (with massive amounts of chars on other games) etc etc. Now that that's out of the way, and I'm sure we'll get messages from all his friends denying it all, what was said was more out of anger than an attempt to kill off another coder in the community. That's all for me on this thread. Re: [Audyssey] HumanityMOO Temporarily Down
On the subject of dissaggreeing with games there are games that I really don't like. And to me they really suck, however the games are not the issue, its just that for me they are not the right ones. ie light tech interactive boppit or sonic invadors, and a couple others for sertain reasons are just not my type and therefore I don't play them although I do try to try every game but I don't complain about them. on the subject of the humanity moo, I do aggree it is crappy right now but what people are forgetting in the heat of the moment is that the game is still alpha. So if its crappy thats why, its still in its first stages. Regardless of what you feel about the project it is always better to give constructive criticism/feedback which might over time improve the game rather than outright negativity. I feel it was a bit of an insult and a put down to Michael, and that is not allowed on this list. So please cease with the negativity. Thanks. Tyler Littlefield wrote: it was extremely constructive. Hi, I'm sure I can send many logs, and point you to his blog, to see what Tyler Littlefield is like off list. He's just like here, but add the profanity in. We don't want your anger on this list. No need to be hypocritical Tyler, your no Mr. Nice/Mature guy off this list either. Your comments/ blog entries were something someone my age should be writing. I thought you just had a problem with Mike, but you seem to have a problem with everyone. Personally, if I were Mike, my Moo would be down. I wouldn't want to sit here and listen to insults. There's other things I'm sure Mike would do then develop. Tyler's just gonna go rant on his blog, but we don't need to hear his insults on this list. Perhaps you Tyler, are the one who should mature Enough said about Tyler. -Ryan *Wow. The multiplayer menu thing I made works. And my php file gives no errors. Re: [Audyssey] HumanityMOO Temporarily Down
Hi there Would just like to point out the fact that, if Tyler Littlefield is so mature, why the blog entry about people on miriani- Cristina, for instance? Why the little childish way he wrote about them? Why, when he got banned from miriani, did he go ahead and have a little tantrum? Hmm. Just search for miriani blog on google. I was attempting to find the toastsoft blog and came across that instead. Sorry if this is off topic. nuff said- just have a look at his blog. He sounds more like a 10 year old when he writes on that. contact details: email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] and others msn: [EMAIL PROTECTED] skype: the_conman283 system details: Hp pavillion dv5220CA notebook pc AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile Technology ML-37 2.0 GHZ, 1024 mb DDR ram, Fujitsu 100 gb 4500 RPM Hard Drive, connecsant AC-link audio - Original Message - From: Ryan Smith [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Monday, October 27, 2008 4:03 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] HumanityMOO Temporarily Down Hi, I'm sure I can send many logs, and point you to his blog, to see what Tyler Littlefield is like off list. [Audyssey] scifi moo
Hi. So what moos are out there for scifi users. I'm not going to spend hours and hours of my life playing but I need something to waste the ocational hour or 2 when things are just going nowhere. all the squidsoft stuff is gone, holotrek is a rpg and I doubt I'll ever complete a bio, etc because I really will not play that much. Then well the squidsoft stuff has gone away and I really don't like miriani. Slipgate legacy is shutting down, and humanity moo is still in alpha and well not that I mean something by it but is there a good space mud out there guys. maybe exploration etc. Or is this my lot. I don't care for the standard hack and slash muds either. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org.
