The game is an offline game. Just unzip that file and run it.

It's got a rather weerd dos style setup, but you can get through by just
pressing enter.

Btw, I'd recommend trying this game.

Hmmm, I'll have to try the three skulls thing.

Remember there's also Eamon delux from http://www.eamonag.org/index.html
which has about a hundred games, all of which are accessible, and the
nice thing is you can create one character and take him/her through them,
ganing experience and gold along the way.

It takes a litle setting up, and you'll need to do some counting of down
arrow presses on menue options, but once you get into the games their
entirely accessible, though you'll have to use the jaws curser I
believe.

See http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?id=2730 for the setup

at all.

sinse it's a general problem, I'd actually suggest you try E-mailing the

and there's no easy, or really any fix that I know of. If anyone's found
one let me know please, accessible dos emulator or the like. I tried the

Hi Shadow dragon

Okay after some playing I've been doing okay with it. The one thing I
need to figure out is how to use healing potions maybe this is that quick
slot you mention? There's been a bit of a curve being an accessible RPG
party with this one, and there are still some times I don't quite get the
action I'm hoping for but I think that's just experience. It's looking good
so far and does work [though I wish it were a tad neater] with screen
readers.

Admittedly this one has a bit of a tough interface. What you have to do is
select the action you want, then I believe hit n for next turn. One thing
you'll want to do is set the game from realtime to turn-based combat, it's
still difficult but less so that way. Its been a while since I played, so
I'm not entirely certain if in turn-based combat n is necessary to go to the
next turn unless its your enemies round or not. I think it tells you
somewhere when to press it though. The combat actions are displayed above
the choices sort of, so if you see a bunch of rapid scrolling of enemy
attacks, you'll know its still in realtime. Its definitely a tough game to
get down interface wise, buts its pretty fun once you get it down. If you
need any help with anything else, like the quick slots features, or
exploring the massive forest when you get there, let me know on or off list
and I'll do my best. Might even start up another game, it was rather fun
while it lasted.

Re: [Audyssey] large text rpgs

2009-04-21 Thread Shadow Dragon
To use quick slots, and this is provided you use jaws, you need to use the
drag and drop feature of your screen reader. You have to go into the
character tab of the character you want to equip with potions, then select a
healing potion and drag it into one of the slots that says empty. It takes a
bit of getting used to but it works. To drag and drop use control insert
left mouse button, and then again on the slot where you want to drag to. If
you can't get that down pat, you can take the slightly longer but much
easier route, go into the character tab, find a healing potion, right click
on it and click use. The only problem is you can't target healing potions,
they're just used on the character you use them with, so it has to be the
character's turn that you want healed. Hope this helps.

[Audyssey] large text rpgs

2009-04-20 Thread Dickson Tan
Hello

Can anybody recommend a downloadable large text rpg similar to fallthru or the
world of legends that has lots of content? RPGs that use similar interfaces to
World of Legends Fallthru? I've recently stumbled across nethack adom but
dungeon navigation is troublesome even when the settings are set for optimal
screen-reader usage. Is there any other way to make adom nethack more
accessible besides changing the dungeon map to use ascii characters?
