I plan to host another flyin on Saturday. No one came, so I worked for about 4
hours on Sunday with 3 pilots who wanted some practice.
Cheers,

Hello Everyone,
The mud called Six Dragons has just recently recieved MSP support. SO far they
have a small sound pack to download. I was wondering if someone knew of a good
website to download free fantasy sound effects they could use to make there
sound pack better. If so could you let me
Hi Folks,
Here are the steps to get L-works games to work on foreign computers.
They might help in running PCS and GMA games that use the GMA game engine.
People in certain countries may have a problem with Streemway telling them
that the product isn't licensed. This error is caused by
Hi Lelia,
Someone has probably answered this before me, but if someone hasn't here
is my answer. In order to extract rar files you will need an archive
utility such as Winzip 12, Winrar, or you can get a free archive utility
like Izarc. Any of the above programs will open and unpack rar files
Hi Shadow Dragon,
I beg to differ with you. There are several programs that will open rar
files besides Winrar. There are free programs like Izarc and Unrar as
well as your commercial programs like Winzip that will open rar files.
You really need to be careful about blanket statements like,
Hi Dark,
That seams to be the case for most archive utilities. Most are able to
extract rar files, but they won't create them. Since zip is the more
widely supported of the two formats I've never quite understood why
Winrar users insist on using the rar format anyway. However, that is a
7zip will also do the job as far as opening rar files.

Yeah, that was my bad, I meant to say win rar is the only one I know of that
extracts rar files. I'm mostly looking for an archive utility that will
extract rar files but not overright the basic winzip functionality, as I
need that for unzipping certain archives that so far, most archiving
Yeah, I was mistaken all around, it was a bad case of non-experimentation. I
assumed for some reason that since the rar and tar.gz files weren't
associated with 7zip when it installed that it couldn't open them. Problem
solved, and thanks for the indirect help, *grins*.
No problem.
I believe I only found out with an experiment through irritation sinse I
didn't see the point of installing several unzip programs, and I never liked
the constant shareware pokes and needs to reinstall which came with Winrar
last time I tried it.
Beware the Grue!

did you archive that or is it not really anything to download.
On that note I'd be happy with archives of the flyins.
Unfortunately although I'd like I am usually bussy on that day.
so although I will listen to the archives I probably can't come unless its wet
or something.
At 10:15 p.m.
well for all that are interested I use www.izarc.org.
its on my system along with winzip which I love over izarc because of its
wizzard but izarc can convert archives extract archives and other things and
its free.
the only disadvantage is the explorer interface if you want a wizzard then
Yea, this looks a good program and thanks for the recommendation.

Hi,
Unfortunately I don't. As it happens I am looking for fantacy sound
effects as well, and am coming up really short. So if anyone knows where
I can obtain good, high quality, free fantacy sounds let me know.

Hi Phil,
The problem is that older Visual Basic 6 programs do not have good
Unicode support. That means if it runs on a computer using a foreign

unicode characters are unsupported by the program. The only solution I

Hi Kevin,
My high and low game is not even on my site. It is just a simple sample guess
the number game that I have sent to anyone who was interested in game
programming. It includes the annotated source code and is written in Visual
Basic 6 and uses DirectX 8.1 and the sapi5 text to speech
Hi,
I see. So what you want is an archive program that will unrar a file,
but not override Windows Explorer's unzip ability?
I believe if you do a custom Winzip installation you can go through a
dialog box to set which file types you want it to automatically open and
which ones to leave alone
Hi Shaun,
So true. Although, I'm one of those people who don't really like the
Winzip wizard interface anyway. Any time I in stall Winzip I disable the
wizard and run it in classic mode. Old habbit I suppose, but Izarc is a
lot like Winzip in classic mode.
Anyway, I think we are vearing way
7zip has the advantage of being in it's own item on the properties list, and
the windows options are always there.
alternatively, you can just muck about with programs and file types in the
correct settings page of the files tab in the control panel.
I personally for example have windows set
