What format did you save the file in? To display an image with a
transparent color on a webpage, you need a PNG file.

Don't copy system files to the tree!
In the tree, do the following:
grep -i bz2 config.log -n -a10
Basically check the log to see why conftest.c is failing at bz2. That
should tell you why BZ2_bzCompress is missing.
My guess is you are missing the libbz2-1.0.dev (or whatever it's called in

Because it's not from the AppStore. Right click on the Gimp App you
have and then give it permission to open.
Not knowing where you obtained your copy of Gimp App, you do this at
your own risk.

Here is an old technique that should still work fine. I have used it
in the past with good results.

Or take a look at wavelet-decompose (video from our Pat David :) )

Does this help?

This has been happening for a while.
While opening your RAW images, don't rely on automatic detection, but
select the long list of raw formats from the dropdown list and then
open your image.
Hope that helps.

It works because, that is the header of a TIFF file as well. Open a
tiff file and examine it to verify.
I provided you with a work around. Remember the magic is provided by UFRaw.

I agree. However, if you want to test out the experimental Gimp 2.9
which will do 16-bit (and higher) images then download Gimp from my
website www.partha.com and check it out. It comes preinstalled with
UFRaw, GMIC, wavelet family of plugins, etc.
Hope this helps.

The question is not very clear. Do you want the image name embedded in
the document or as a title for the document or something else?
Thanks,

Gimp picks up recent documents from Windows. Remove your them within Windows.

Simplest would be take control of the print position yourself. Create
a border around your image so that it's centered and now print
borderless.
Hope that helps,

He probably determined that it's a PNG file since GIMP automatically
defaults to PNG during export?

Instead of letting GIMP selected the file automatically, scroll down
and specifically select the camera raw images (should be a long list
of files) before opening NEF images.

There is no need to file a bug. This has been going on for a while
with UFRaw and GIMP.
Trying updating to version 0.21 or even the CVS version.

No simple solution like ofnuts said. You can try the smudge tool to
see if it helps.

OK, if you don't see Python-Fu under The Filters, no python script is
going to work.
First order of business, find out why you don't have python support in
your GIMP installation.

Peter,
Go to my website (www.partha.com), download the zipfile and unzip. Run
McGimp. If you have issues, let me know.

GIMP 2.9.1 (current experimental builds) handle 16/32 bit images just
fine. Feel free to download from my website as it comes with UFRaw
included.
In any case, you have not provided the RAW CR2 file and so it's hard
to see what is happening here. When you say that your CR2 image is

I suppose I can tell you that you can download GIMP builds from my
Website (www.partha.com) where the builds do not cause such issues.
However, my builds are not officially sanctioned by the GIMP
developers but I am not in the habit of producing malwares or viruses.

If you have compiled UFRaw correctly against GIMP 2.9 then click on
the "Color Management" tab and change the output mode to 16.

Perhaps.
I assumed that the official build would have it built in as mine does.
