Hi, Im using a HP 840c deskjet and have had great results in printing images
etc... from gimp and my linux box. Being an older HP model drivers are
readily available and its also fairly cheap if thats a consideration :).
Although the cartridges are a bit pricey they seem to last quite a long
time
Anyone having great success printing high quality images from GIMP? What printers have you found to be useful? I am just getting a start and want to determine whether GIMP/Linux can be used to produce photo quality images without undo hassle.

on printing
and gimp (and I don't know if Mandrake uses a BSD-like print setup.),
but you may want to try apsfilter.
Hope this provides some help. (and I'm sorry if it doesn't)

I don t know if it will help but I had the same effect when choosing the
effective driver for an hp but did not select the print as ghoscript option
as i write this i realise there isn t such options anymore with "cups inside"
it was for mandrake 71
I had not that kind of trouble with cups
maybe
Recently I upgraded to Mandrake 7.2 and GIMP 1.1.29.
Everything is fine except that I can't print to my
Canon BJC 610. There are no drivers in CUPS or
Gimp-Print for any Canons older than BJC 1000. Has
anybody had any experience with this? It prints a
gimp-print header with some settings and
when i do the print i get a dialog window. select print to lp or
whatever it is instead of file. then set percentage etc and paper size
in there. i have no problems switching to a4 and adjusting percentage
and alignment how i want.

I found the answer to this on this list last year. I
didn't need it then, I need it now, though.
How do I get the Gimp to print? The 1.0.4 RPM and
source versions only allowed me to print to a file.
Same with the 1.1.24 I am using now.
Before, I eventually got one of the 1.0.4 versions to

know its relatively new..

Just installed gimp 1.1.22 and sane. When I select file-print none of
my printers show up in the drop down printers box. If I select setup,
there's a list of printers as well as postscript 1 or 2 options. Still
no way to associate any of these printers with my existing printers.
What gives?
Is there a way to print more than just one copy of a
photo at a time?
I'm using 1.0.4.
Thanks!

, you'll need to change it back once you're done printing
your N copies, otherwise it will print N copies from that point on.
Thanks!

Hello,
I have wrote a small page about my needs for printing photos:
- calibration
- use of special inks
This can be from the Gimp or with an external software.
Do you think that this is really possible (without a lot of work)?

Anyone notice any weirdness in printing from Gimp? I have no problem with
it at home but I can't seem to get it to print from work. I'm using 1.1.8

HAPPY
is the printing of
digital
photographs to my HP DeskJet 694C.
I have this printer setup for postscript using the magicfilter-1.2's
dj550c-filter. This is obviously not adequate for photos even though
text
prints fine.
Any suggestions, polite ones please, gratefully accepted
