hmmm, I would try a different keystroke, it sounds like that might be
assigned to something else as well and intermittently be conflicting
depending on what is running when you attempt to lock down.
example, when I first started using win XP I thought of a gnomonic keystroke

You mean that still happens? I had that at work whenever the computer
locked and had them turn it off on mine so I would not have to reboot but
that was in about 2000. Long time for that to be cured or rather not cured.

now press the letter l=lock
it's a toggle so perform the same steps to unlock the keyboard.

JAWS 13, I have no problems. I just do an alt-ctrl-del and type in my
password and hit enter. Works every time. Can't use any JAWS commands or
anything as they report nothing.
