Thank you to everyone who put my mind at rest re the quiet time on the list. I
am so jealous of all the conventions and other lace-ins in USA, Australia and
UK. It must be wonderful to have all these top-notch teachers to choose from
and to keep up-to-date with everthing in the lace world. That is
Hello everyone,
I have been busy too! I have just been to Bruges for a week, making lace. There
were twenty of us, staying in the Beguinhof, with Anne-Marie Verbeke-Billiet as
our tutor. There were six types of lace being worked, and plenty of fun and
friendship in between times.
This weekend

Hi Beth.
I think that things work. But, I suppose that the good spring weather has
driven us away from the computer... We have had such a long and cold winter
in Spain, that we are enjoying the sun as soon as it rises. But... I keep
making lace. And your Cluny project looks magnific. You remind me
The list seems very quiet - I've not seen a message since Friday- so this is a

Well, dear Spiders,
Here I am on my last night NY city, won't mention the margheritas consumed
this evening !! At least 7 hours a day (for the past 3 days)

Thank you Brenda, I will have to get some and try it on some special piece,
I expect the end finish will be worth the effort.

Very quiet today. I was about to send a test message when the others came

Hi Alice,
I purchased some silk from Pipers a few years ago and their '90 Silk Floss'
seems to me to be very similar to the silk used for Maltese lace. I found
the pale cream was almost a perfect match for some of my Maltese lace,
however I do realize that not all Maltese lace is the same sha
My computer has been down for almost a week so I am now launched back into

I haven't yet used silk but shall be tempted soon I think, what sort of grid
size pattern would work with guitermann silk 100/3 as this seems to be the
most commonly one used. I know there are others out
Hi Alice,
How about Trebizond silk? I would be happy to send you a sample if that would
help.

Try www.treenwaysilks.com
just a thought. I'm not sure there is anything suitable; their products
might be too twisty for what you want, that is available in the small
skeins.
I just made a Torchon scarf with some of the 20/2 dyed silk.

Hi Bev, Betty Ann, and Patsy!!
Thank you for letting me know that it wasn't my server or computer!! I had
lots of mail this morning (although still not much from the list!).
On the other hand, yesterday was our first truly beautiful spring day, so at
