Hi Alice and all I make all my travel pillows with pool noodle as the centre core but I then wrap around it with multiple layers of felt (about 2.5cm or 1" thick) before the final covering of fabric. The felt is thick enough to hold the pins on their own so all the pool noodle does is provide

Dear Ann-Marie, perhaps you could attach the velcro to a cover cloth, which can then be pinned firmly over your pillow, to attach the roller. Thinking about it, it might be possible to simply pin the velcro to your pillow. I've not tried anything like this, but it would seem to be worth experime

Hi Ann-Marie and lace list Yes, your wool fabric around the pool noodle will work fine. The noodle won't receive direct pinholes if the pins go through several layers of fabric first. You might want to wrap a layer of cotton fabric over it all I like having a cotton surface with wool underneath. I
