and everything works ok. I think I have a run level 5 startxfce instead of startkde. Where would I make that change. I know it would be in the /etc dir. I have put the xinitrc xfce3rc in /X11/xinit rebooted, still kde is brought back up. I did move the kde stuff to a tmp dir. cheers -- Rick
