elements are "horrifically slow." You may want to check your ispell
installation, and make sure the LyX configuration could find it when

Am I missing something, or is the geometry input not in LyX-1.2.1? I
remember from earlier versions that it was possible to select margins
from the Layout -> Page menu. With LyX-1.2.1 I ended up putting some
geometry parameters in the Preamble.

I'm in the midst of migrating from Solaris-8 to a MacOS 10.2 box, and
for an old Unix hand the learning curve is steep.
I set up teTeX, xdvi, and LyX, and have run into an apparent impass. If
I set the environment variable TEXMF to /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf

After some struggle, I've gotten LyX to work on a MacOS 10.2 PowerMac,
but the teTeX installation is refusing to generate some fonts. Here's

After failing to get LyX working on MacOS 10.2 with the various fink
offerings, I decided to try myself, by getting xforms-0.89.6 from the
xforms page, and building LyX-1.2.1 from the source. It gets close --
as far as the final link, which fails with the following error message:

(preferably version 1.2.x) working on Mac OS. I've tried following the

agree with Max. The misbehavior of LyX after pasting is the single
most annoying feature of what is otherwise my favorite document
processor. After pasting, it should be possible to immediately edit
the inserted material without having it suddenly disappear and require
multiple presses of t
tely, the crash-recovery component of LyX is robust, and I've
lost no work. I'll try to keep track of what triggers these crashes
and see if I can find a reproducible pattern.
