It seems that soething has gone wrong on your system. To fix it, either

I installed both packages that are distributed by the fedora core extras
repository: lyx 1.4.1 and lyx-qt 1.4.1. The dependencies are automatically
handled by yum. Thus, yes, all dependencies are satisfied.

I went to ftp://ftp.lyx.org/pub/lyx/bin/1.4.1/ and found only the 64 bit
version of lyx for suse 10.x. So, is there its i586 version?

Yes. LyX-1.3.7 can even read LyX-1.4.x.
