Is your TeX installation usable? What version of tetex are you running?

I just installed lyx 1.04 on a redhat 6 intel box.
I tried both rpm's available in the bin directory
of the ftp archive. Bothe installed fine. But both
come up with the same error when I run them:

Hallo,
is there any way to scan photographs, pictures, etc. and include as
objects into Lyx as Windows does?
Cheers, Ramin

I know there has only just been a new release, but one feature I would
find handy in LyX would be a spell-as-you-go feature, like I get in my
email program, postilion (which uses ispell). Having incorrectly spelt
words underlined with a right-mouse option to correct etc would greatly

LyX works great but that's because of LyX and not of Gnome), but when I
am working in 8-bit color mode, LyX crashes on startup, reporting a

I have to correct myself:
Math expressions are now in the text.
But I got about 100 errors like "parsing error" and others!!
Is this normal?

Hallo,
I wanna use "Scientific Workspace" (this is a TEX
Programm) to read and edit Lyx- documents.
Therefor I export lyx -file with LYX 1.04 to
LATEX.
But when I try to open the tex -file I got a bunch
of error-messages and all math. expression are gone.
S.Workspace should be able read LAT

Any support for a pdflatex backend?
Hi Lyx-users,
I inserted a big list of figures in my document (a
report with all the figures at the end), and so I
would like to add subparts in it,
so that readers can go directly to the right page for
a given subpart. Moreover, I don't want to add
How can I do that ?
I first thought I could :

Hy there,
I've got a Sun sparc ipx 4/50, with a redhat 6.0.1 installed...
I've download the linux-sparc xforms.0.88.tgz from the lyx ftp server and
installed it by make install. But the forms.h file was not copied in the
/usr/X11R6/include directory. I did it manually.
