Noob here.
Has anyone had any luck exporting Mathematica formatted notebooks as LaTeX and
opening them with LyX?

prominently as it does.
Is there a work-around? I've tried a few different fonts but that doesn't seem
to help.

I dare to say that the label/reference system is one of the main
advantages of LaTeX (and LyX) for scientific writing. It may be more

Is there a work-around? I've tried a few different fonts but that doesn't seem
to help.

No—it is only a few paragraphs of e.g. lorem ipsum or whatever. Adding a few
equations doesn't seem to make any difference; if anything, it might make
scrolling faster
