Hi, Check your settings in Mail Preferences, Accounts, Mailbox Behaviours. Under the Trash section, make sure it's set to "None", to delete messages "Automatically" and that the Archive messages is set to go to gMail - AllMail. See if that improves things. I'm having no issues here.

Yep. I restored apps from TM and the next day redid the clean install, this time only restoring computer and settings from TM via Migration Assistant. Manually installing apps and registering a very few of them again was easier. From E.T.'s Keyboard... Without H2O there is no life!

That looks sane, just be careful that you don't accidentally erase the recovery partition, just erase the HD volume. If you erase the recovery partition, it will drop you into internet recovery and you'll then have to start with the OS the machine came with before you upgrade to Sierra again
