Hi Les,
I have had this problem for a while now, since way before getting the new Mac.
I have no idea what causes it or how to solve it, but I can tell you that
turning VO off, waiting a couple seconds and then turning VO back on usually
allows Mail to close. Sorry I don’t have a better

Hi all,
During my update to the most recent version of Big Sur I lost VO access. When
my Mac “came to”, I had a folder on my desktop called Donna’s MacBook Air, that
basically contained the stuff from my desktop, pluss a relocated items folder.
I have no idea why this folder was created, but
Hi Ian,
Is there any particular reason you want to use Google Assistant? I have Sonos
speakers throughout the house, and use Siri to play my Apple Music library. It
can sometimes hiccup, but most of the time it works pretty well.

Hi Les,
Press VO-M twice. The battery status is in the Extras menu. Alternatively, copy
the script that I will send you privately, and assign a hotkey to it.

Hi all,
So I’ve figured out what the problem is. Direct Touch doesn’t seem to be coming
on. And it isn’t showing up in the rotor for me to activate it either. Does
anyone know if there’s a way to force direct touch to come on?

For me, that has been a huge disappointment in the M1 Macs, particularly after
