OK, so here's the scoop regarding my Internet conductivity issue after
upgrading to Mavericks, followed by a memory upgrade question.
Last night, after upgrading to Mavericks I was showing my WiFi connection but
could not connect to the Internet. I tried using Diagnostics and the
Assistant,
(overclocking). If you are getting the RAM at the store and having the
Genius folks install it then you should be in good hands although you'll
probably be paying a premium price. A 4GB PC3-8500 1066Mhz 1.5v memory module
is about $40-$60 US from newegg.

Within the security tab in Safari, I found configure web settings, and the only
choices given were Adobe Reader, QuickTime, and Java plug-ins. There was a
warning that using Adobe Reader might compromise personal

I have some files on my computer which used to read just fine with Preview or
Adobe. For some reason, when I open them now, nothing is happening. I have
tried all manner of commands: attempting to interact, checking read mode, full
screen mode, trying to read by page; I am getting

Sorry; perhaps I was not clear. The devices submenu works great, as does
locating backups in Preferences, as described. But I cannot locate the scroll
area which permits choosing backup near the sync button when interfacing with
iTunes without utilizing Preferences or the Devices submenu, as I

This morning I signed into Netflix on my iPhone and was able to start audio
