So, I've thought of a couple of causes and options.

might want to rethink that $70 bucket and roller paint job. hee hee. ;-)

Just a thought I'm throwing out there. I'm sitting on the side lines,
reading and taking all this in and learning what I can. I figure soon or
later, I'll need to do all this too if I keep the car long enough.

What!!?! An MB suspension that doesn't hold up for a million miles?
Heresy!!! Burn him! Burn him!
Actually, I was thinking the same - stretching or deforming somewhere - but
that is a terrible thought.
Taking the car in for new tires and alignment today, I'll ask the shop but
they're tire/brake
Yes, I forgot to order new spring pads. I may decide to replace those,
fortunately now I know that getting out the springs is not a big deal at
all. And yes, according to the technical data book, negative camber is
normal, so maybe I'm making a fuss over nothing! Will ask tire shop to
measure

Not a perfect fix, but good enough for now.

Don't think so - my 'puter displayed the Chinese characters just fine, no

OK Don,
I used that with a coupling to press out the LBJs on my '95 E300, and used
Rusty's rental press to install the new ($35 to rent it, cost me ~$18 to ship
it
insured back to Rusty). I also have a couple of sets of 3/4 and 1/2 impact
sockets from HF, one of which I used to help press
I think your best shot is sending the note to Tom Hanson and asking him about
such a demand list. I think that if you keep your continuing use of a
Mercedes-Benz at a level of attention with MB (for instance, getting the high

Yes - what Kaleb said, and it also applies to all the other bushings/joints.

Yes - another good method to use, both for removing and installing. Combined
with heat and pressure applied straight/flush, the job isn't too bad at all.

Yes, I'm sure more economical in the long run, but what I've got is pretty much
perfect for what I do now, and it is very compact - fits into a small canvas

Jaime,
Thanks for your info on the W108 - I didn't even know it is a 108. I too think
they're only going to go up in value, and I also agree that there's lots of
folks on this list (me included) who are bottom feeders and thrive at the
'frugal' end of the scale.
I really want to get this
For your sake, I sure hope not! However, you still have the original problem
to
sort out. Perhaps the SLS valve was already dead? I would think that if there
was air entrapped, you could loosen the lines at the top of the struts to bleed
out the air - that is what I do on my 124 wagon SLS.
The Goon Show! I'd forgotten all about that. Of course, I'm too young to have
heard the original broadcasts, but it was re-broadcast well into the '80s.

Have to share this with my brother.
