Yes you need to pull the vacuum pump, and the nut on the end of the IP
shaft is backward - left-handed thread, IIRC.
If you go that far and pull the IP, the oil seal (big o-ring) on the
injection pump may start leaking, if you don't replace it.

That happened to me in my 123 wagon, a rear brake line rusted through and
bled out. I drove home carefully, and then put in a new line without
dropping the subframe.
You'll need to get the car home and then get underneath and evaluate the
situation. I'd also ask the guy to try to replace the

has been working under the hood, front end damage poorly repaired, needs

Sounds like you need a wiring diagram and the service manual for the HVAC,
ideally with the component locations. Maybe try searching on you-tube
university?
If you can locate the connectors, you can probably spoof the signal to make
the system work. For instance, the pressure switch is probably

Red leather interior looks decent from just the couple of pics, "smoke
silver" = gold paint. Might be interesting if someone is looking for a 124

Was the switch located up high to keep it out of the spring floods? Or
were they trying to save wire, make a short run? Or was the floor dug out
to make the room deeper after the switch was installed?
