They’re not bad cars, but the front seal on the supercharger is a weak point and most likely will need to be changed. They have other minor issues as well, but nothing I would consider a dealbreaker. I’ve been looking for a nice SLK320 for the Mrs. for a while as it’s practically the same car

Too high, but then I am a cheap b*stard. The harmonic balancer is a V8 issue, I believe. I prefer the "facelift" W210 (2000-2002 03 for wagon) for various reasons. Worst issue with these is rust. I had a whole punch list of maintenance items on these that get neglected. Most are pretty minor
