hey all,
George Carlin, the dean of counterculture comedians whose biting
insights on life and language were immortalized in his Seven Words
You Can Never Say On TV routine, died of heart failure Sunday. He
was 71.
Carlin went into a Santa Monica hospital Sunday afternoon complaining

and seafood.
at least it is becoming more clear!!!
i have read one of the first signs of mercury poisoning are dreams of
grandeur and celebrity...lol

Good idea Kevin! But I have next to no current posters. The ones on the
walls are ones that don't even sell for $1, or which the buyer never pays
for (usually a dollar or two). I keep putting them up on the walls, and

I would say that very few businesses have given lots of discounts when
business is booming! In this case, it is surely earnings related. If they
can get their second quarter numbers up, the stock price will likely keep

The actress was Deanna Durbin. I saw the same thing you did at the Anne

It has been a few years since I went through the Anne Frank House and my
memories of those days is fading but the item I remember most of the house was
the Holland Deft (sp?) Blue toilet. I must have missed the Deanna pic.

It looks like ebay is trying a lot of different tricks and promotions right
about now. I received an e-coupon for 10% off a purchase over $100. I also
received one for free shipping. Then came 5 free listings today only. So they
are really hustling.

After Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor and Bill Hicks, George was one of my comedic
heroes.
My friends and I would repeat his pothead observations to each other verbatim
in the 70s and I loved that he went from that to being a cranky iconoclast
later on.
Carlin. Dead. Now that's a dirty word.

Hi Tom, How are you, I
Now this is what I call a poster!! Any ideas on where something like this was
displayed back in the day? Where would you put it today?
A vertical 6 sheetAny others you know of in this format?
Words do fail me.Diana Dors in all her splendor!
That was a great post, Tom, even if it had nothing to do with posters
or movies.
I propose that we enter into a business agreement whereby you feed me
your rough ideas, and I'll flesh them out into book form and perform
a spellcheck. We will be listed as co-authors on the book and all
This is amazing! I actually have this exact poster mounted on a heavy board
in my garage. The text at the bottom is not intact on my poster, it cuts
off at her feet.I always wondered what the heck it was...now I know.
Thanks for pointing it out...

Allied Artists was working with the idea at this time of a poster
that could be cut out, pasted on board or wood and made into a life-
size standee. You can see it also in the future girls 6 sheet from
THINGS TO COME - an extremely rare piece.

Great poster! If you look through many old pressbooks you often see ideas for
cutting up 3 and 6 sheet posters parts and mounting on board for either indoor

There was a shot floating around a couple of weeks back of a theatre with 2 or
